Lemongrass or lemongrass, also known as holy grass or lemon grass, is a herbaceous plant of the family Poaceae, native to the tropical regions of Asia, especially India. It grows on a bush of shoots, propagating by stolons, which present linear-lanceolate amplexica leaves. Its inflorescences are constituted by yellowish panicles. The plant is also called Cymbopogon citratus or by the botanical synonyms Andropogon ceriferus, Andropogon citratus, Andropogon citriodorum, Andropogon nardus ceriferus, Andropogon roxburghii and Andropogon schoenanthus. Other popular names are belgate, belgata, tea, prince tea, gabon, citron grass, citron grass, citrus grass, holy grass, scented grass, lapa grass, citronella, sweet-smelling grass, catinga grass, patchouli, patchouli, seagrass, membe grass, camel straw, esquenanto and caxinde tea. Erva-príncipe ou capim-limão, também conhecido por capim santo ou capim cidreira, é uma planta herbácea da família Poaceae, nativa das regiões tropicais da Ásia, especialmente da Índia. Cresce numa moita de rebentos, propagando-se por estolhos, os quais apresentam folhas amplexicaules linear-lanceoladas. As suas inflorescências são constituídas por panículas amareladas. A planta é também chamada de Cymbopogon citratus ou pelos sinônimos botânicos Andropogon ceriferus, Andropogon citratus, Andropogon citriodorum, Andropogon nardus ceriferus, Andropogon roxburghii e Andropogon schoenanthus. Outros nomes populares são belgate, belgata, chá-de-estrada, chá-príncipe, chá-do-gabão, capim-cidrão, capim-cidrilho, capim-cidró, capim-santo, capim-de-cheiro, capim da lapa, citronela, capim-cheiroso, capim-catinga, patchuli, pachuli, capim-marinho, capim-membeca, palha de camelo, esquenanto e chá de caxinde.
