WHAT DOES MANGANGABA MEAN IN PORTUGUESE?

Mamangaba

Mamangaba, beetle-mangangá, marimbondo-manganga, or even rodeo wasp in Brazil and abelhão, abugão or drone in Portugal. Mamangava seems to be the most common in Brazil. It is a common name given to bees of the genus Bombus, widely distributed in Brazil and Portugal. They have a wide, pilose abdomen, usually black and yellow in color. They measure around 3 cm in length. These bees may be solitary or, at certain times of the year, social. When social, they live in hives of ten to two hundred individuals. They are large, hairy and emit a loud buzzing sound when flying. They are very important in pollination of many plants. A mamangaba rarely stings, unless it is provoked; If this happens, your sting is very painful. Unlike bees of the genus Apis, a mamangaba can sting several times. Usually mammals make nests lined with pieces of straw in holes in tree trunks or soil, preferably in gullies, and may also make nests under the floor of houses or gardens.
