gău „gol, cavitate”, cu
suf. expresiv -
man, ca în

gr. γεμένος „care a mîncat” (Cihac, II, 661); în legătură cu
fr. gourmand (Tiktin); din
sb. gamon (Skok 74). Scriban este singurul care a identificat la finală
suf. -man. –
