Strîmtoare, chei, pas. – 5. Gaură, orificiu. – 6. Gît, gîtlej. – 7. Deschizătură, ochi. – 8. Margine, mal, vad. – 9. Decolteu, răscroială. – 10. Parte a unui rîu, fluviu pe care acesta își varsă apele. – 11. La războiul de țesut, parte de început a pînzei. – 12. Lamă, tăiș, buză. – 13. Cea mai mare parte a sensurilor sale coincid cu cele ale lui bucca, și sînt proprii limbilor romanice. Cf. lat. med. gula Augusti „initium mensis Augusti”, pe care Bréal, Mél. Soc. Ling., XI (1900), 360 îl interpretează drept „vigilia Augusti”, deși este vorba fără îndoială de sensul lui gula „intrare”. Der. guriță, s. f. (a începe țesătura, învîrtind urzeala sulului de la război); guritor (var. gurar), s. m. (bețișor cu care se fixează urzeala pe sul); gurar, s. m. (muncitor care păzește intrarea unei mine); gurar, s. n. (aftă, spuzeală la colțul gurii); gureș, adj. (vorbăreț, palavragiu); gureșie, s. f. (vorbărie); guran, s. m. (șalău, Lucioperca sandra); gurilățel, adj. (Bucov., cu gura mare); gură-cască, s. m.
