jirébie (jirébii),s. f. – 1. Jurubiță, scul. – 2. Fîșie îngustă de pămînt de lucrat. – Var.jerebie, jurebie.Sl., cf.pol.žerebie,rus.žerebeja „prăjină”, rut.žerebij „fîșie de pămînt” (Cihac, II, 157; DAR), din sl.žrĕbij „parcelă, lot, bucată de pămînt”. Primul sens este mai puțin clar. Prezența sa în mr.jireagl’ă,megl.jireagă, pare să indice că este vorba de același cuvînt sl. cu sens neatestat „mănunchi de fire”, poate prin aluzie la tragerea la sorți, cf.sfoară, funie, cu același sens dublu de „fir” și „parcelă de pămînt”. Totuși, DAR crede că este vorba de două cuvinte diferite. Cf. și bg.žrebij „parcelă”, sb.ždreb „parcelă”, mag.zséreb „scul”. Se folosește mai ales în Mold. și mai puțin în Trans.Der.jurubiță,s. f. (scul), cu var.jurebiță, jirbiuță, jirghiță, jighiuța; jirebi,vb. (a îndoi, a plia). Cf.jerbie, jerui.
