WHAT DOES PLUMB MEAN IN ROMANIAN?
Lead
Lead is the chemical element number 82 in the Periodic Table of Elements. Lead is a heavy metal, gray-silver with very high density. Due to high density, lead has found its use in protection against ionizing radiation. Lead is also used in the production of small but heavy mass weights. This metal is toxic to the human body, poisoning is called saturnism. Lead oxides are used in the manufacture of protective paints and miniaturization and litharge gels. Lead plates are also used in the manufacture of vehicle accumulators. In the past, lead was used in drinking water pipes, which is a serious thing because of its high toxicity. Lead salts are not much used, and acetate is used in microbiology laboratories to produce culture media. Due to the low fusion point, lead is used in laboratory melted metal baths and in the manufacture of soldering alloys in electrotechnics. It stains the flame in blue-green.
