Caffeine; Also known as matein and guaranin. Caffeine, an alkaloid, is naturally found in coffee, tea, yerba mate, guarana, and in small quantities in cocoa. Caffeine has a characteristic, intense bitter taste. Some sodas like coke are added to give flavor. It was first discovered by German chemist Friedich Ferdinand Runge in 1819. At the same time, caffeine has passed through the literature of chemistry. He gave this name by utilizing the Kahov. By acting on the central nervous system, caffeine accelerates and stimulates messages from and to the brain. The absorber is in a big shout. Caffeine is found in different amounts in many plants. There are 60 varieties of plants in beans, in leaves and in fruits. The known dry tea is boiled with 10% Pb or Ca2CO3, then extracted with chloroform in a separatory funnel. The remaining lower phase is taken up, the chloroform is evaporated and the residue is purified by liquid sublimation method to obtain caffeine.

Kafein ; matein ve guaranin olarak da bilinir. Bir alkaloid olan kafein doğal olarak kahvede, çayda, yerba mate'de, guarana'da ve, az miktarda, kakao içinde bulunur. Kafeinin karakteristik, yoğun bir acı tadı vardır. Kola gibi bazı gazlı içeceklere tat vermesi için eklenmektedir. İlk olarak Alman kimyager Friedich Ferdinand Runge tarafından 1819'da bulunmuştur. Aynı zamanda kafein ismini kimya literatürüne geçirmiştir. Kahveden yararlanarak bu ismi vermiştir. Kafein, merkezi sinir sistemine etki ederek, beyne giden ve beyinden gelen mesajları hızlandırır ve stimülan etkisi yapar. Emilimi büyük oranda ince bağırsaktandır. Kafein birçok bitkide değişik miktarlarda bulunmaktadır. Fasulyelerde, yapraklarda ve meyvelerde 60 çeşit bitkide bulunur. Bilinen kuru çay, %10 luk Pb ya da Ca2CO3 ile birlikte kaynatıldıktan sonra ayırma hunisinde kloroform ile ekstrakte edilir kalan alt faz alınıp içindeki kloroform uçurulur ve kalan sıvı süblimasyon yöntemi ile saflaştırılarak kafein elde edilebilir.
