Proteins are large organic compounds that are the resultant chain of amino acids. Proteins are most recently consumed at the time of fasting. Chemical digestions begin to midee. Proteins are polymers composed of building blocks of amino acids. There are specific amino acid sequences that allow each protein to have its own unique properties. Most of the functions of proteins can be understood by determining the properties of the amino acids that make up the protein itself. There are 20 kinds of amino acids most commonly used for the formation of human virus proteins. The bond formed by the attachment of an amino acid in this chain to the amino group of another of the carboxyl group is called the peptide bond. The sequence of the amino acid sequence of each protein is defined by a gene and encoded by the genetic code. Even though the genetic code defines 22 "standard" amino acids, the amino acids in the proteins are chemically modified by post-translational modification. These changes occur either before the protein starts to function, or as part of the control mechanisms, to change the function of the protein.

Bu zincirde bir amino asitin karboksil grubunun bir diğerinin amino grubuna bağlanmasıyla oluşan bağ peptit bağı olarak adlandırılır. Her proteindeki amino asit dizisinin sırası bir gen tarafından tanımlanır ve genetik kod ile kodlanmıştır. Genetik kod 22 "standart" amino asit tanımlasa da proteinlerdeki amino asitler çevrim sonrası değişimle kimyasal olarak değişikliğe uğrar. Bu değişimler ya proteinin işlev görmeye başlamasından önce gerçekleşir ya da kontrol mekanizmalarının parçası olarak, proteinin işlevini değiştirmek için olur.
