Sterilization (microbiology)
Sterilization - the destruction of all organisms and agents capable of spreading from surfaces, medical equipment, food products or biological environments. Sterilization differs from disinfection by the fact that disinfectants kill only pathogenic organisms. Thermal treatment is most often used for sterilization, although chemical sterilization methods exist. Sterility is the absence of any material or product of viable microorganisms and their controversy in the environment, organism, any material.
