Un cemento es un aglutinante, una sustancia que se endurece y se endurece a medida que el cemento se seca y también reacciona con el dióxido de carbono en el aire dependientemente, y puede unirse a otros materiales. El cemento hidráulico se realiza reemplazando parte del cemento en una mezcla de hormigón con silicatos de aluminio activados, puzolanas, como cenizas volantes, para activar la fijación del cemento en condiciones húmedas o bajo el agua y además protege el hormigón endurecido de un ataque químico. Endurecimiento debido a la hidratación.
