Divergencia
En el cálculo vectorial, la divergencia es un operador vectorial que mide la magnitud de la fuente o del sumidero de un campo vectorial en un punto dado, en términos de un escalar firmado. Más técnicamente, la divergencia representa la densidad volumétrica del flujo hacia fuera de un campo vectorial a partir de un volumen infinitesimal alrededor de un punto dado. Por ejemplo, considere el aire cuando se calienta o enfría. El campo vectorial relevante para este ejemplo es la velocidad del aire en movimiento en un punto. Si el aire se calienta en una región, se expandirá en todas las direcciones de manera que el campo de velocidad apunte hacia fuera desde esa región.
