Impasibilidad
La impasibilidad describe la doctrina teológica de que Dios no experimenta dolor o placer de las acciones de otro ser. A menudo se ha visto como consecuencia de la aseidad divina, la idea de que Dios es absolutamente independiente de cualquier otro ser, es decir, de ninguna manera causalmente dependiente. Estar afectado por el estado o las acciones de otro parecería implicar dependencia causal. Algunos sistemas teológicos representan a Dios como un ser expresivo de muchas emociones. Otros sistemas, principalmente en el judaísmo y el Islam, retratan a Dios como un ser que no experimenta sufrimiento ni ninguna otra emoción en absoluto. Sin embargo, en el cristianismo hay una disputa antigua sobre la impasibilidad de Dios.
