En principio, el comercio internacional no es diferente del comercio interno, ya que la motivación y el comportamiento de las partes involucradas en un comercio no cambian fundamentalmente, independientemente de si el comercio se encuentra a través de una frontera o no. La principal diferencia es que el comercio internacional suele ser más costoso que el comercio interno.
