Ironía
La ironía (del griego antiguo εἰρωνεία (eirōneía), que significa "disimulación, fingida ignorancia"), en su sentido más amplio, es un dispositivo retórico, una técnica literaria o un acontecimiento caracterizado por una incongruencia o contraste entre cuáles son las expectativas de una situación Y lo que realmente es el caso, con un tercer elemento, que define que lo que realmente es el caso es irónico por la situación que lo condujo. La ironía puede dividirse en categorías tales como: verbal, dramática y situacional. La ironía verbal, dramática y situacional se usan con frecuencia para hacer hincapié en la afirmación de una verdad. La forma irónica del símil, usada en el sarcasmo, y algunas formas de litotes pueden enfatizar el significado de uno por el uso deliberado del lenguaje que afirma lo contrario de la verdad, niega lo contrario de la verdad o subestima drástica y obviamente una conexión factual. Otras formas, identificadas por el historiador Connop Thirlwall, incluyen dialéctica y ironía práctica.
