El árbol de Jesse es una representación en el arte de los antepasados de Cristo, mostrado en un árbol que se levanta de Jesse de Belén, el padre del rey David y es el uso original del árbol genealógico como representación esquemática de una genealogía. Se origina en un pasaje del Libro bíblico de Isaías que describe metafóricamente el descenso del Mesías, y es aceptado por los cristianos como referente a Jesús. Las diversas figuras representadas en el linaje de Jesús se extraen de los nombres enumerados en el Evangelio de Mateo y el Evangelio de Lucas. El tema se ve a menudo en el arte cristiano, particularmente en el de la Edad Media. El primer ejemplo data del siglo XI y en un manuscrito iluminado. Hay muchos ejemplos en los salterios medievales, debido a la relación con el rey David, hijo de Isaí, y escritor de los Salmos. Otros ejemplos son vidrieras, tallas de piedra alrededor de los portales de las catedrales medievales y la pintura en las paredes y techos. El árbol de Jesse también aparece en formas de arte más pequeñas, como bordados y marfil.
