Clítico
En morfología y sintaxis, un clítico es un morfema que tiene características sintácticas de una palabra, pero depende fonológicamente de otra palabra o frase. El término se deriva del griego para "inclinarse". Se pronuncia como un afijo, pero desempeña un papel sintáctico en el nivel de la frase. En otras palabras, los clíticos tienen la forma de afijos, pero la distribución de las palabras funcionales. Por ejemplo, el posesivo inglés es un clítico en la frase caballo del rey de Inglaterra: Parece un sufijo, pero su posición al final de "el rey de Inglaterra" y no de "rey" es como la de un Palabra separada Los clíticos pueden pertenecer a cualquier categoría gramatical, aunque sean comúnmente pronombres, determinantes o adposiciones. Obsérvese que la ortografía no siempre es una buena guía para distinguir los clíticos de los afijos: los clíticos pueden escribirse como palabras separadas, pero a veces se unen a la palabra de la que dependen o se separan por caracteres especiales como guiones o apóstrofes. La palabra "clítico" se utiliza a menudo suelto para lo que puede ser mejor descrito como un afijo o una palabra.
