Esturión rara de esturión beluga nadando en un acuario. ~ Earthwave Society Sturgeon es el nombre común usado para unas 25 especies de peces en la familia Acipenseridae, incluyendo los géneros Acipenser, Huso, Scaphirhynchus y Pseudoscaphirhynchus. El término incluye más de 20 especies comúnmente referidas como el esturión y varias especies estrechamente relacionadas que tienen nombres comunes distintos, notablemente sterlet, kaluga y beluga. Colectivamente, la familia también se conoce como los verdaderos esturiones.
