Mag. fehérkés „albicios” (Drăganu,
Dacor., V, 352); s-a spus probabil la început despre fanții care obișnuiau să se pudreze. După Scriban, din
mag. felékes „elegant”; însă fonetismul nu este clar. –
Der. ferchezui, vb. (a dichisi; a găti; a curăța), care, după Cihac, II, 498 și Scriban, provine din
mag. felkendözni „a se sulemeni”, și al cărui al doilea sens este rezultat al unei confuzii cu
fercheteu.
