Appressorium
Un appressorium est une cellule spécialisée typique de nombreux agents pathogènes de plantes fongiques qui sert à infecter les plantes hôtes. Il s'agit d'un organe aplati, hyphal "pressant", d'où une pince d'infection minime pousse et pénètre dans l'hôte, en utilisant une pression de turgre capable de frapper même Mylar. Après la fixation et la germination des spores sur la surface de l'hôte, le tube germinal émergent perçoit des indices physiques tels que la dureté de surface et l'hydrophobicité, ainsi que des signaux chimiques incluant des monomères de cire qui déclenchent la formation d'apportorium. La formation d'apportorium commence lorsque la pointe du tube germinal cesse la croissance polaire, accroche et commence à gonfler. Le contenu de la spore est ensuite mobilisé dans l'appomérisme en développement, un septum se développe au col de l'appressorium et le tube germinatif et la spore s'effondrent et meurent. Au fur et à mesure que l'apportorium mûrit, il s'attache fermement à la surface de la plante et une couche dense de mélanine est déposée dans la paroi de l'appoméron, sauf à travers un pore à l'interface de l'usine. La pression de Turgor augmente à l'intérieur de l'appressorium et une hyphae de pénétration émerge au pore, qui est entraîné à travers la cuticule de la plante dans les cellules épidermiques sous-jacentes.
