L'acide borique, également appelé borate d'hydrogène, acide boracique, acide orthoborique et acidum boricum, est un acide de Lewis faible et monobasique souvent utilisé comme antiseptique, insecticide, retardateur de flamme, absorbeur de neutrons ou précurseur d'autres composés chimiques. Il a la formule chimique H3BO3 (parfois écrit B (OH) 3) et existe sous forme de cristaux incolores ou d'une poudre blanche qui se dissout dans l'eau. En cas de minerai, on l'appelle sassolite.
