District de Kodagu
Kodagu, également connu sous le nom de Coorg, est un district administratif de Karnataka, en Inde. Il occupe une superficie de 4.102 kilomètres carrés dans les Ghats occidentaux du sud-ouest de Karnataka. En 2001, sa population était de 548 561, dont 13,74% résidaient dans les centres urbains du district, ce qui en fait le moins peuplé des 30 districts de Karnataka. Kodagu est bien connu dans le monde pour le café et ses "courageux guerriers". Madikeri est le siège de Kodagu. Le district est bordé par le district de Dakshina Kannada au nord-ouest, le district de Hassan au nord, le district de Mysore à l'est, le district de Kannur au Kerala au sud-ouest et le district de Wayanad au Kerala au sud. Kodagu abrite les locuteurs natifs de la langue Kodava. Les kodavas indigènes qui ne forment qu'un cinquième de la population totale de Kodagu, comme la plupart d'entre eux, ont déménagé dans les villes, comme Bangalore et Mysore, et même à l'étranger, dans des pays comme l'Amérique du Nord, mais encore le groupe le plus important de Kodagu.
