En médecine, la décompensation est la détérioration fonctionnelle d'une structure ou d'un système qui fonctionne auparavant. Une décomposition peut se produire en raison de la fatigue, du stress, de la maladie ou de la vieillesse. Lorsqu'un système est "compensé", il peut fonctionner malgré les facteurs de stress ou les défauts. La décomposition décrit une incapacité à compenser ces lacunes. C'est un terme général couramment utilisé en médecine pour décrire une variété de situations. In medicine, decompensation is the functional deterioration of a previously working structure or system. Decompensation may occur due to fatigue, stress, illness, or old age. When a system is "compensated", it is able to function despite stressors or defects. Decompensation describes an inability to compensate for these deficiencies. It is a general term commonly used in medicine to describe a variety of situations.
