Disfranchisement

La privation de droits est la révocation du droit de suffrage d'une personne ou d'un groupe de personnes, ou par des pratiques, la prévention d'une personne exerçant le droit de vote. Les droits de douane peuvent être accomplis explicitement par la loi ou implicitement par des exigences appliquées de manière discriminatoire, intimidante ou en imposant aux électeurs des exigences déraisonnables pour l'inscription ou le vote. Disfranchisement is the revocation of the right of suffrage of a person or group of people, or through practices, prevention of a person exercising the right to vote. Disfranchisement may be accomplished explicitly by law or implicitly through requirements applied in a discriminatory fashion, intimidation, or by placing unreasonable requirements on voters for registration or voting.
