"Follower" est un poème de Seamus Heaney publié dans sa collection de 1966 Death of a Naturalist. Le poème traite de la façon dont il admirait et suivait son père. Dans ce poème, Heaney réfléchit et regarde presque nostalgiquement une agriculture irlandaise en décrivant l'expertise de labour de son père. Il décrit vivement ses souvenirs des capacités de son père et explique à ses lecteurs son admiration totale et intransigeante pour son père en tant que jeune garçon qu'il était. Heaney a eu un accident vasculaire cérébral en 1990, mais a récupéré, il n'a pas écrit sur cet événement. L'auteur se place dans son enfance et donne au lecteur son point de vue sur la relation personnelle qu'il a avec son père, une partie de décrire les différentes actions que cet homme a faites à la ferme.
