Une branche est un organe respiratoire trouvé dans de nombreux organismes aquatiques qui extrait l'oxygène dissous de l'eau et excède le dioxyde de carbone. Les branchies de certaines espèces, comme les ermite, ont été adaptées pour permettre la respiration sur terre à condition qu'elles soient humides.
