Mondialisation
La mondialisation est le processus d'intégration internationale résultant de l'échange de vues du monde, de produits, d'idées et d'autres aspects de la culture. Les progrès dans les infrastructures de transport et de télécommunications, y compris la montée du télégraphe et sa postérité sur Internet, sont des facteurs majeurs de la mondialisation, générant une plus grande interdépendance des activités économiques et culturelles. Même si les universitaires placent les origines de la mondialisation dans les temps modernes, d'autres tracent son histoire bien avant l'ère européenne de la découverte et des voyages vers le Nouveau Monde. Certains ont même retracé les origines du troisième millénaire avant notre ère. À la fin du 19ème siècle et au début du 20ème siècle, la connectivité des économies et des cultures du monde a très vite augmenté. Le terme «mondialisation» a été de plus en plus utilisé depuis le milieu des années 1980 et surtout depuis le milieu des années 1990. En 2000, le Fonds monétaire international a identifié quatre aspects fondamentaux de la mondialisation: le commerce et les transactions, les mouvements de capitaux et d'investissement, les migrations et les mouvements de personnes et la diffusion des connaissances.
