Syndrome antiphospholipidique
Le syndrome des antiphospholipides ou le syndrome des anticorps antiphospholipides, souvent aussi le syndrome de Hughes, est un état auto-immune et hypercoagulable provoqué par des anticorps antiphospholipides. L'APS provoque des caillots de sang dans les artères et les veines ainsi que les complications liées à la grossesse telles que la fausse couche, la mortinaissance, l'accouchement prématuré ou la prééclampsie sévère. Les critères diagnostiques nécessitent un événement clinique, à savoir une thrombose ou une complication de grossesse, et deux tests sanguins positifs espacés d'au moins 3 mois. Ces anticorps sont: anticoagulant lupique, anti-cardiolipine et anti-β2-glycoprotéine-I. Le syndrome des antiphospholipides peut être primaire ou secondaire. Le syndrome antiphospholipide primaire se produit en l'absence de toute autre maladie apparentée. Le syndrome secondaire des antiphospholipides se produit avec d'autres maladies auto-immunes, telles que le lupus érythémateux systémique. Dans de rares cas, l'APS entraîne une insuffisance organique rapide due à une thrombose généralisée; C'est ce qu'on appelle «syndrome antiphospholipidique catastrophique» et est associé à un risque élevé de décès.
