Le Hibou à oreilles longues est une espèce de hibou qui se reproduit en Europe, en Asie et en Amérique du Nord. Cette espèce fait partie du plus grand groupe de hiboux connus sous le nom de hiboux typiques, famille Strigidae, qui contient la plupart des espèces de hibou. L'autre groupe de chouettes sont les chouettes, famille Tytonidae.
