Microforme
Les microformes sont des formes, des films ou du papier, contenant des microréproductions de documents pour la transmission, le stockage, la lecture et l'impression. Les images de microformes sont généralement réduites à environ un vingt-cinquième de la taille du document original. À des fins spéciales, des réductions optiques plus importantes peuvent être utilisées. Toutes les images de microformes peuvent être fournies comme positives ou négatives, plus souvent celles-ci. Trois formats sont communs: microfilm, cartes d'ouverture et microfiches. Les microcards, un format qui ne sont plus produits, étaient semblables à ceux de la microfiche, mais imprimés sur du carton plutôt que sur des films photographiques.
