Micro-injection
La micro-injection se réfère au processus d'utilisation d'une micropipette en verre pour injecter une substance liquide à un niveau macroscopique microscopique ou limite. La cible est souvent une cellule vivante, mais peut également inclure l'espace intercellulaire. La micro-injection est un processus mécanique simple impliquant habituellement un microscope inversé avec un pouvoir de grossissement d'environ 200x. Pour les procédés tels que l'injection cellulaire ou pronucléaire, la cellule cible est placée sous le microscope et deux micromanipulateurs, l'un tenant la pipette et l'une contenant une aiguille microcapillaire habituellement entre 0,5 et 5 μm de diamètre, sont utilisés pour pénétrer dans la membrane cellulaire et / ou enveloppe nucléaire. De cette façon, le processus peut être utilisé pour introduire un vecteur dans une seule cellule. La micro-injection peut également être utilisée dans le clonage d'organismes, dans l'étude de la biologie cellulaire et des virus, et pour le traitement de la sous-fertilité masculine par injection intracytoplasmique de spermatozoïdes.
