La valeur de réalisation nette est une méthode d'évaluation de la valeur d'un actif détenue en inventaire, dans le domaine de la comptabilité. NRV fait partie des principes comptables généralement reconnus et des normes internationales d'information financière qui s'appliquent à l'évaluation de l'inventaire afin de ne pas exagérer ou sous-estimer la valeur des biens d'inventaire. La valeur de réalisation nette est généralement égale au prix de vente des biens d'inventaire moins les coûts de vente. Il est prévu un prix de vente inférieur aux coûts de vente. En formule: Selon les IFRS, les entreprises doivent comptabiliser le coût de leur inventaire final au moindre coût et NRV, pour s'assurer que leur inventaire et leur compte de résultat ne sont pas surestimés. Par exemple, selon les IFRS, à la fin de l'année d'une entreprise, si un bien inachevé qui coûte déjà 25 $ devrait vendre 100 $ à un client, mais il faudra 20 $ supplémentaires pour compléter et 10 $ pour annoncer au client, son NRV le fera Être de 100 $ - 20 $ - 10 $ = 70 $.
