Ovule
Ovule signifie «petit œuf». Dans les plantes à graines, l'ovule est la structure qui donne naissance et contient les cellules reproductrices femelles. Il se compose de trois parties: le tégument formant sa couche extérieure, le nucellus et le gamétophyte féminin en son centre. Le gamétophyte féminin - spécifiquement appelé «mégagamétophyte» - est aussi appelé sac embryonnaire chez les angiospermes. Le mégagamétophyte produit un ovule aux fins de la fécondation. Après la fécondation, l'ovule se développe en une graine.
