QUE SIGNIFIE REDSTART EN ANGLAIS
Rouge-queue
Redstarts est un groupe de petits oiseaux du Vieux Monde. Ils étaient autrefois classés dans la famille de la grive, mais on sait qu'ils font partie de la famille des mouches volantes Old World Muscicapidae. Ils sont actuellement traités en quatre genres, les vrais Redstarts Phoenicurus, les genres étroitement liés Chaimarrornis et Rhyacornis, et le genre moins apparenté Hodgsonius. Ce sont des oiseaux nourris au sol insectivores, dont la plupart ont la queue rouge qui donne au groupe son nom; "Start" est le réflexe anglais moderne du Middle English stert, Old English steort, queue d'un animal. La plupart des espèces sont migratrices, les espèces du nord étant des migrants à longue distance et plus souvent des espèces du sud étant souvent des migrantes altitudinales élevant à haute altitude et descendant plus bas en hiver. Ce sont de petits insectivores, les mâles surtout colorés aux multiples combinaisons de rouge, bleu, blanc et noir, les femelles marron clair avec une queue rouge.
