Une vis de réglage est un type de vis généralement utilisé pour sécuriser un objet à l'intérieur ou contre un autre objet. Les exemples les plus courants sont la fixation d'une poulie ou d'un engrenage sur un arbre. Les vis de réglage sont généralement sans tête, ce qui signifie que la vis est complètement filetée et n'a pas de tête dépassant le diamètre principal du filetage. Une vis de réglage aveugle est presque toujours entraînée avec un entraînement à déchirement interne, comme une douille hexagonale, une étoile, une douille carrée ou une fente. Un exemple d'application est le moment où une vis de réglage est vissée dans un moyeu de poulie de manière à ce que son extrémité soit fermement contre l'arbre. L'action de fixation se fait par friction entre la vis et l'arbre, souvent avec une certaine quantité de déformation élastique ou plastique d'une ou des deux.
