Baba et Madame
Baba et Madame sont un groupe de descendants chinois dont la position unique est parmi les Chinois dans les Établissements des Détroits, en Malaisie, en particulier à Melaka. Cependant, certains d'entre eux refusent de reconnaître qu'ils sont chinois mais prétendent plutôt qu'ils sont britanniques et sont fiers de cette position. De plus, ils accueillent de nouveaux immigrants chinois et ont leur propre club qui interdit l'entrée des immigrants chinois. Ils s'appellent "Baba" ou "Peranakan" parce que leur culture, qui est dérivée de l'héritage chinois, a des éléments d'influence culturelle malaise. Leur adaptation culturelle et leur résilience à l'atmosphère socioculturelle dans leur environnement passé, qui est le mariage entre les Chinois et les Malais, est une cause majeure de la raison pour laquelle les générations suivantes les appelaient «Baba». En termes d'affection, la plupart d'entre eux conservent encore les religions traditionnelles chinoise et bouddhiste, mais beaucoup ont embrassé d'autres religions comme les chrétiens qui sont très populaires parmi les adolescents.
