Le paludisme
Le paludisme est une maladie causée par le parasite protozoaire le plus répandu dans le monde, le plasmodium qui contribue à environ 3 millions de cas et à 1,5 à 2,7 millions de décès par an. Il est disséminé par des anophèles du genre Anopheles (sirop de moustique), notamment Anopheles sundaicus en Asie et An. gambiae en Afrique. De nombreuses personnes contractent le paludisme en voyageant dans des pays tropicaux ou subtropicaux. Le paludisme est présent dans la plupart des régions de l'Arika subsaharienne, de l'Asie du Sud-Est et du Sud, au Mexique, en Haïti, en Amérique centrale et en Amérique du Sud, en Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guinée et aux Îles Salomon. Le paludisme est une maladie infectieuse à transmission vectorielle causée par des parasites protozoaires. Il s'étend dans les zones tropicales et subtropicales, y compris des parties de l'Amérique, l'Asie et l'Afrique. Chaque année, elle cause des maladies à environ 650 millions de personnes et tue entre un et trois millions de personnes, principalement des enfants d'Afrique subsaharienne. Le paludisme est généralement associé à la pauvreté, mais il est aussi une source de pauvreté et un obstacle majeur au développement économique. Le paludisme est l'une des maladies infectieuses les plus courantes et un grand problème de santé général.
