L'Oregon est un État du nord-ouest des États-Unis, sur la côte du Pacifique. Il borde les États de Californie et du Nevada, à l'est de l'Idaho, en grande partie le long de la rivière Snake, au nord avec Washington, en grande partie le long du fleuve Columbia. Entre les deux chaînes de montagnes, qui s'étendent du sud au nord, les montagnes Coastal et Cascade, se trouve la vallée de Willamette, l'une des régions les plus fertiles au monde. Le nom Oregon est dérivé de la torsion et le transfert du nom de la rivière Ouariconsint, maintenant la rivière Wisconsin. L'Oregon est connu pour sa grande quantité de pluie, mais c'est seulement sur son côté ouest. Il est situé ici le plus profond dans le pays Krater Lake situé dans le parc national Crater Lake. Nazwa Oregon powstała w wyniku przekręcenia i przeniesienia nazwy rzeki Ouariconsint, obecnie Wisconsin River. Oregon jest znany z dużej ilości deszczu, ale tyczy się to tylko jego zachodniej części. Znajduje się tutaj najgłębsze w kraju Jezioro Kraterowe leżące w Parku Narodowym Jeziora Kraterowego. Według spisu powszechnego ludność stanu w roku 2000 wynosiła 3,42 mln. Był to wzrost o 20,4% w stosunku do roku 1990. Liczba ludności w roku 2004 oceniana była na 3,59 mln.
