CHE SIGNIFICA DIES IRAE IN INGLESE
Dies Irae
"Dies Irae" è un inno latino attribuito a Tommaso di Celano dell'Ordine Francescano oa Latino Malabranca Orsini, lettore presso lo studio domenicano di Santa Sabina, il precursore della Pontificia Università di San Tommaso d'Aquino, Angelicum a Roma. L'inno risale, almeno, al XIII secolo, anche se è possibile che sia molto più vecchio, con alcune fonti che attribuiscono la sua origine a S. Gregorio il Grande, a S. Bernardo di Clairvaux o a San Bonaventura. È un poema latino medievale caratterizzato dal suo stress accentuato e dalle sue linee rima. Lo strumento è trocaico. La poesia descrive il giorno del giudizio, l'ultima tromba che convoca anime davanti al trono di Dio, in cui il salvataggio sarà consegnato e il salvataggio inganna in fiamme eterne. L'inno è meglio conosciuto dal suo uso come sequenza nella massa dei Requiem Cattolici Romani. Una versione inglese si trova in vari libri di servizio comunione anglicana.
