La trasmissione di energia elettrica è il trasferimento in massa di energia elettrica, dalla generazione di centrali elettriche alle sottostazioni elettriche situate nei pressi di centri di domanda. Ciò si distingue dal cablaggio locale tra le sottostazioni ad alta tensione ei clienti, che in genere è indicato come distribuzione di energia elettrica.
