Il debole pesce, Cynoscion regalis, è un pesce marino della famiglia dei tamburi Sciaenidae. Un grande pesce marino, snello, si trova lungo la costa orientale del Nord America. La testa e la parte posteriore di questo pesce sono di colore marrone scuro con una tonalità verdognola. I lati hanno una debole tonalità argentata con macchie scure e la pancia è bianca. L'origine del suo nome si basa sulla debolezza dei muscoli della bocca, che spesso causano un gancio a strapparsi, permettendo al pesce di fuggire. Il debole pesce cresce a 1 m di lunghezza e 9 kg di peso.
