O QUE SIGNIFICA EPISTASIS EM ALEMÃO
epistasis
A epistasis é uma forma de interação genética. Ocorre quando um gene pode causar a supressão da expressão fenotípica de outro gene. O termo foi introduzido em 1909 por William Bateson. Existe a epistasia dominante e recessiva. Se um único gene controla várias características fenotípicas, então fala-se de pleiotropia. Na definição mais geral do termo, a epistasia significa a interação de genes entre alelos em genroci diferentes. Assim, a epistasia é um fenômeno de variância genética não aditiva, de modo que os geneticistas não são simplesmente uma "mistura" dos alelos da geração dos pais. Em outras palavras, a epistasis ocorre exatamente quando os efeitos de diferentes loci dependem um do outro, de modo que a covariância das contribuições é diferente de zero. Esses efeitos de interação resultam em uma variação adicional entre geração principal e sucursal.
