Hydathode
Um hydathode é um tipo de tecido secretor nas folhas, geralmente encontrado em Angiospermas, que secreta água através de poros na epiderme ou margem de folhas, tipicamente na ponta de um dente marginal ou serração. Os hidatodes são encontrados principalmente em plantas aquáticas e em algumas plantas herbáceas que crescem em locais húmidos. Eles provavelmente evoluíram a partir de estômatos modificados, e estão conectados ao sistema vascular da planta por um feixe vascular. Os hidatodes são comumente vistos na água alface, jacinto de água, rosa, bálsamo e muitas outras espécies. Os hidatodes são feitos de um grupo de células vivas com numerosos espaços intercelulares repletos de água, mas poucos ou sem cloroplastos e representam feixes de feixes modificados. Estas células se abrem para uma ou mais câmaras subepidérmicas. Estes, por sua vez, se comunicam com o exterior através de um estoma de água aberta ou poro aberto. O estoma da água parece ser estruturalmente um estoma comum, mas geralmente é maior e perdeu a força do movimento.
