Namíbia / nəmɪbiə /, oficialmente a República da Namíbia (alemão: República da Namíbia (ajuda · info); Afrikaans: Republiek van Namibië), é um país do sul da África, cuja fronteira ocidental é o Oceano Atlântico. Ele compartilha fronteiras terrestres com Angola e Zâmbia ao norte, Botswana a leste e África do Sul ao sul e a leste. Embora não seja fronteira com o Zimbabwe, menos de 200 metros de rio (essencialmente a fronteira da Zâmbia / Botsuana) os separa nos pontos mais próximos. Ganhou independência da África do Sul em 21 de março de 1990, após a Guerra da Independência da Namíbia. Sua cidade principal e maior é Windhoek. A Namíbia é um estado membro das Nações Unidas (ONU), da Comunidade de Desenvolvimento da África Austral (SADC), da União Africana (UA) e da Commonwealth das Nações. As terras secas da Namíbia foram habitadas desde o início por San, Damara e Namaqua, e desde o século 14 dC, imigrando Bantu, que veio com a expansão Bantu. A maior parte do território tornou-se um protectorado imperial alemão em 1884 e permaneceu uma colônia alemã até o fim da Primeira Guerra Mundial.
