Relaxante muscular
Um relaxante muscular é uma droga que afeta a função do músculo esquelético e diminui o tônus muscular. Pode ser usado para aliviar sintomas como espasmos musculares, dor e hiperreflexia. O termo "relaxante muscular" é utilizado para se referir a dois grupos terapêuticos principais: bloqueadores neuromusculares e espasmolíticos. Os bloqueadores neuromusculares agem interferindo na transmissão na placa final neuromuscular e não têm atividade do sistema nervoso central. Eles são freqüentemente usados durante procedimentos cirúrgicos e em cuidados intensivos e medicamentos de emergência para causar paralisia temporária.
