Na biologia, uma espécie é uma das unidades básicas de classificação biológica e uma classificação taxonômica. Uma espécie é muitas vezes definida como o maior grupo de organismos capazes de cruzar e produzir descendentes férteis. Embora, em muitos casos, essa definição seja adequada, a dificuldade de definir espécies é conhecida como o problema da espécie.
