În matematică și teoria grupurilor, un sistem bloc pentru acțiunea unui grup G pe un set X este o partiție a lui X care este invariantă G. În ceea ce privește relația de echivalență asociată cu X, G invarianța înseamnă că x ~ y implică gx ~ gy pentru toate g în G și toate x, y în X. Acțiunea lui G asupra X determină o acțiune naturală a lui G pe orice bloc sistem pentru X. Fiecare element al sistemului bloc este numit bloc. Un bloc poate fi caracterizat ca o submulțime B a lui X astfel încât pentru toate g în G fie ▪ gB = B sau ▪ gB ∩ B = ∅. Dacă B este un bloc, atunci gB este un bloc pentru orice g în G. Dacă G acționează transitiv pe X, setul este un sistem bloc pe X. Partițiile triviale în seturi singleton și partiția într-un set X în sine sunt sisteme bloc . Un set tranzitoriu G-set X este considerat primitiv dacă nu conține partiții netriviale.
