Celesta / sɨlɛstə / sau celeste / sɨlɛst / este un idiofon lovit de o tastatură. Seamănă cu un pian vertical sau cu o cutie de muzică din lemn mare. Cheile se conectează la ciocane care lovesc un set gradat de plăci metalice suspendate peste rezonanții din lemn. Patru sau cinci octave au de obicei o pedală care susține sau atenuează sunetul. Instrumentele de trei octave nu au pedala datorită designului lor mic de tip "table-top". Una dintre cele mai cunoscute opere care utilizează celesta este "Dansul Zanei de Prună a Zahărului" de la The Nutcracker. Sunetul celestului este similar cu cel al glockenspiel, dar cu un timbră mult mai subtil și mai subtil. Această calitate a dat instrumentului numele său, celeste însemnând "ceresc" în franceză.
