Gimnastică
Gimnastica este o competiție complexă care implică efectuarea de exerciții care necesită forță fizică, flexibilitate, putere, agilitate, coordonare, grație, echilibru și control. Pe plan internațional, toate evenimentele gimnastice competitive sunt guvernate de Federația Internațională de Gimnastique. Fiecare țară are propriul corp național de conducere afiliat la FIG. Gimnastica artistică competitivă este cea mai cunoscută dintre evenimentele de gimnastică. În mod obișnuit, implică evenimentele femeilor cu bare inegale, bare de echilibru, exerciții la podea și seif. Evenimentele bărbaților sunt exerciții pe podea, cal de pommel, inele încă, bolți, bare paralele și barul înalt. Gimnastica a evoluat de la exercițiile folosite de vechii greci care includ abilitățile de montare și demontare a unui cal și de la abilitățile de performanță ale circului. Alte discipline de gimnastică includ: gimnastică ritmică, trambulină, Team Gym, tumbling, gimnastică aerobică și gimnastică acrobatică. Participanții pot include copiii la vârsta de 20 de ani care fac gimnastică și gimnastică pentru copii, gimnaste recreaționale cu vîrsta de 5 ani și peste, gimnaste competitive la diferite nivele de îndemânare și sportivi de clasă mondială.
