Industria este producția unui bun sau serviciu în cadrul unei economii. Industria prelucrătoare a devenit un sector-cheie al producției și al muncii în țările europene și nord-americane în timpul Revoluției Industriale, supărând economiile anterioare mercantilă și feudală.
