Itacolumitul este o gresie poroasă, gălbuie, naturală, care este flexibilă atunci când este tăiată în benzi subțiri. Se întâmplă în număr mare la Itacolumi, în partea de sud a Minas Gerais, Brazilia. Se mai găsește și în Jhajjar, India; Georgia; și Stokes și McDowell Județe Carolina de Nord, Statele Unite ale Americii. Este cel mai bun și cel mai cunoscut exemplu de gresie flexibilă și este o sursă de diamante găsite în zona Minas Gerais. Pe fețele despărțite ale plăcilor, sunt vizibile cântare de mică verzuie, dar în alte privințe, piatra pare a fi remarcabil de pură. Dacă o bucată care are un picior sau două lungi și jumătate de centimetru grosime este susținută la capete, se va îndoi treptat de greutatea proprie. Dacă este apoi întoarsă, se va îndrepta și se va îndoi în direcția opusă. Fulgi cu un milimetru sau două grosimi pot fi îndoiți între degete și se spune că dau un sunet scârțâitor, dar exemplare care arată această formă de proprietate formează doar o mică parte din întreaga masă a rocilor.
